How to care for your AK Creation

Practicality is very important to me, and so all of my products can be machine washed quickly and easily. There are a few tips to help keep your AK Creation in tip top condition.

Softshell coats

Make sure that the velcro and press studs are done up and turn the coat inside out. Wash on a 30°C cycle using a small amount of LIQUID detergent (washing powder will impair the breathability of the fabric). DO NOT use fabric softener. Dry the coat inside out either by hanging outside or in a tumble dryer on a low setting. Putting the coat into a tumble dryer for a short, gentle cycle will reactivate the water resistant treatment of the fabric. If you do not have a tumble dryer, then running a warm (not hot) iron over the coat will do the same.

Polar fleece and sweatshirt

Polar fleece & sweatshirt products can be machine washed on a 30-40°C cycle. Make sure all velcro fastenings are done up before placing in the washing machine. Tumble dry on a medium setting.

HOW TO DEAL WITH STATIC ELECTRICITY BUILD-UP WITH POLAR FLEECE PRODUCTS

Fleece fabrics can be prone to a static electricity build-up over time. To prevent and maintain a low amount of static electricity:

° Use fabric conditioner when washing fleece items.

° Tumble dry the item using a dryer sheet. The sheets will coat the fabric with a waxy substance. It can also help to add a damp cloth to the dryer for the last 15 minutes of drying time.

Towelling coats

AK Creations keep cool towelling coats can be washed on either a 40°C or a 60°C washing machine cycle. To help maintain the whiteness of the coat, add a product like Napisan directly to the drum of your machine each time you wash it. DO NOT use fabric conditioner, and for better absorbancy line dry.
